Enable Battery Percent (Without Root) in Android 4.4
To enable battery percentage in the battery icon on the status bar, install the app below from PlayStore. Open it and select "Enable Battery Percent". Then reboot your phone. You should see the battery percentage when your device reboots.
Note: Keep in mind that you can only see the battery percent if the battery is empty enough beacuse the percentage text is white on the white battery background. And no, you cannot change the percentage colour.
This should work on any device running Android 4.4

Customize LED notifications
LED Blinker
LED Blinker lets LED on your phone show your missed calls, SMS, Facebook messages, Viber messages in different colours. Unlike other similar apps it is very battery friendly.
If your phone doesn't have LED hardware then it will use your phone's screen to show notifications.
Warning: If you use a Samsung S3 (Mini) you have to disable Samsung TTS (text-to-speech) under settings -> apps manager -> all (on the right) and Google TTS (text-to-speech).

Light Flow
A good alternative to LED Blinker is Light Flow. It lets you to take control over your notification LED if available on your phone. It doesnot have the feature to show notifications on the phone's screen like LED Blinker.
