Color OS is a custom Android firmware from the Chinese manufacturer Oppo. It's basically a heavily skinned version of Android. According to Oppo the Color OS was developed with lots of research from users and is accompanied by more than 40 patents.
It doesnot contain any Google Apps so you have to flash a gapps package given below this post.
I have tried this rom on my Galaxy Nexus and i haven't noticed any bugs yet. It isn't as snappy as Paranoid Android or Vanir Rom but can definitely be used as a daily driver.
The OS is based on Android 4.2.2. Oppo has been very slow on updates but as soon as they upgrade thier rom to the latest Android version, the developer community will surely port it to Galaxy Nexus soon.
The custom status toggle tiles are similar to Stock Android. It has a unique feature called custom spaces like Music spaces and Photos spaces. In Music spaces you can play songs and get their lyrics whenever you are connected to the internet.
As you can see, everything is deeply themed but it actually looks great on the eye. The recents spaces it also deeply overhauled and it has a clear memory button at the bottom to clear all apps. You can also see how much of your ram is free from the total available ram of the phone.
Color OS supports custom gestures and boy they are useful. Some of them are double tap on the home button to lock the phone, three finger swipe for screenshot, pinching gesture to open camera, etc.
I haven't covered all the features of the phone. Why spoil all the fun ehh!! Look this is the beauty of Android. We change roms because you can, we change icons because we can, we change the look of our phone because we can. So try out this rom make your Windows phone and Iphone fanboy friends jealous.
Warning :
I don't need to say this but remember, I won't be responsible for any damages to your phone. That being said, keep calm and flash the rom, you won't run into any problems.
